Lava by 3m Espe is the most independently studied and well known zirconia of the many systems on the market. The Lava system is an innovative CAD/CAM technology using a zirconium oxide base. The durability and esthetics of Lava restorations represent the optimum in all-ceramic systems. Frameworks are designed in a CAD program and then milled using a pre-sintered zirconia block. This milled block is then colored using one of eight shades matched to the VITA® Classical Shade Guide. Finally, the milled Lava frame is sintered for 10 hours to fully gain its high strength and fracture resistance. Colored frameworks are thin and translucent, ensuring a natural and vital appearance. Lava restorations provide excellent esthetics with outstanding marginal fit and superior strength. and have years of clinical history and proven results.
Indicated for single-unit crowns up to 8-unit bridges with a maximum span length of 55mm. Ideal for inlay bridges and Maryland type bridges. Cantilever bridges with one pontic can be fabricated if the bridge has a double abutment.
